Grit your teeth and pray. Opening Pandora's box #2
After being stopped out before Pandora went on it's volatile 40% run earlier in the year, then having the sharp dropoff that I speculated about on Feb 6, I'm trying to open Pandora's box again.
Entry point this time is $8.70. No stop this time. Using stops with a stock this volatile, just gets you stopped out when just when you need to be gritting your teeth and praying.

AREX Back in long after it dropped 6% today
I didn't think AREX would provide a rentry point so soon, but after the wild jump this morning to $34.93, and then a 6% drop this afternoon, I'm back in long around about the level of the bottom of the channel that the current rally has been staying within.
Gained 1.5% within 10 minutes of getting in. I could day-trade it now and pay my electricity bill for the month, but I think it will track to it's long term trend and go back to the top of the channel in the next weeks.

FTR bought @ $8.04
This was one of my income stocks in the past. Big sell off in the last month after earnings and dividend. However seems to be an established based at 8, so looking for a breakout for a quick profit, or a longer term rise because the $0.1875 dividend (9%) makes it an attractive stock at this level.
Price target $8.50 within 3-4 weeks, or hold longer term for the dividend if it takes a while to move.

ARMH Bought at $29.21
Bought ARMH at $29.21 on the pullback on the 22nd. This was higher than my original planned repurchase price of $27.50 but ARMH is showing a lot of strength in it's bullish trend so this trade was calculated to buy at the 21 day EMA line. This is my second ARMH trade in it's current uptrend. The first was 8% in 8 trading days some weeks ago.
ARMH then proceeded to get hammered by the HPQ earnings announcement, which dragged tech stocks down. I was watching the chart carefully, and working on managing my emotions. When a stock drops 5% the day after you bought it, it's hard to not take it personally. It I had put in a reasonable stop or trailing stop on this position the position would have closed at a loss.
However, by the end of the week, it had made a full recovery, giving me 3% gain in 4 days at Friday's close. As I write this on Monday morning, it's added another 3% to make this a 6% profit in 5 trading days.

NUAN Opening Long Position at $18.34
Nuance Communications is a market leader in voice recognition, including the DragonDictate product. I think the company is a potential acquistion candidate for Google, HP, RIM or Samsung.
Many cellphones have had voice recognition for dialing and other simple tasks for years, but it never became the must have feature on a phone.
As smartphones change the user experience by providing a much more relevant and useful experience, being able to control web search and applications on a smartphone by voice will become a much bigger part of the mobile computing experience.
